The Greater Ridgewood Youth Council (GRYC) operates a COMPASS After-School Program serving students in grades K–5 at New York City Academy for Discovery, P.S. 306Q,. The program provides structured recreational and educational activities with an emphasis on social-emotional learning.
The After-School Program collaborates closely with school teachers and faculty to support and reinforce classroom instruction. The program operates Monday through Friday from 2:15 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. during the academic year.
Students participate in a range of enrichment activities, including Arts and Crafts, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), Arts & Crafts, Project Adventure, Fitness, Sports, E-Sports, Dance and Gameroom. The program also offers special themed events throughout the year in recognition of seasonal and cultural celebrations.
The primary goal of the After-School Program staff is to maintain a safe, structured, and engaging environment that supports the academic and social development of students at P.S. 306.
