Welcome to the Greater Ridgewood Youth Council’s SONYC After-School Program at I.S. 25 and World Journalism Preparatory. We service children from 6th to 8th grade. Our program operates Monday through Friday from 2:25pm to 5:30pm, during the school year calendar.

Our goal is to foster a fun and safe environment for your children to learn and grow as well as expand on what they are learning in class on a daily basis. The students will have an opportunity to join a variety of activities including Creative Arts, Recreation which includes a variety of team sports, Healthy Living, Leadership Development/Community Service Projects, Literacy and STEM, which is a Common Core Aligned program that incorporates Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, and more.

The students are provided with free and healthy snacks daily.  As the year progresses special events will be planned throughout the school year. We also hold Team Sport Tournaments in Flag Football, Basketball, Volleyball and Soccer throughout the year that helps foster team building skills, and sportsmanship.
