In addition to our existing GRYC COMPASS elementary program at P.S./I.S.128, we now also serve our Junior High School population through the GRYC SONYC program. The GRYC SONYC program is a free program that is funded by the NYC Department of Youth and Community Development. Our program operates Monday-Friday between the hours of 2:30–5:30PM during the school calendar year. Snacks are also provided for every child.
Our goal at P.S./I.S. 128 is to provide a learning, safe and fun environment that supports Department of Education performance. Our activities are designed to provide educational enrichment through Homework Help, Leadership Development, Photography, Music Technology, Literacy and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) & Creative Arts. The GRYC SONYC program also offers a variety of recreational and physical activities that promote healthy living such as Team Sports, Cheerleading, STEP, Dance and much more! The following activities also promote social and creative skills. We also support our future leaders by engaging in different community service events.
